Importance of education for girls stressed
Anantapur: The Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank organised an International Women’s Day, here at Yadava Bhavan on Thursday. Postal Superintendent Swathi Madhurima, who was the chief guest of the event, said that all girl children should receive education and achieve economic self-reliance. Regional Manager Jayasimha Reddy, who presided over the meeting, said the Bank has always been trying for the welfare of women. He unveiled Bank’s ‘SHE’ programme.
As much as Rs 3 crore loan amount was disbursed on the occasion. Ophthalmologist Dr Minitha Kumari was felicitated in this event. Chief Manager Mastan Vali and Lakshminaryana, senior managers N Kameswara Rao, K Sankar Narayana, M Venkateswarlu, B Hemalatha, K Narasimhulu, MR Vani and mangers and officers of other branches were present.
