JUDAs strike hits patients

Visakhapatnam: With the ongoing strike of the Junior Doctors since March 8, thousands of out-patients of all the seven government hospitals, including King George Hospital, have been suffering and the nurses have been attending additional services. 

In fact, according to guidelines, without the doctors’ directions and supervision, the nurses are not supposed to provide any kind of medical service to patients. However, in the absence of the junior doctors’ services, there is a big burden on the nurses.

Meanwhile, the regular and senior doctors are paying more attention to clear the rush in the OP wings. At an average over 4,000 patients are coming to the OP wing in all the seven government hospitals located in the city. Majority of the patients are coming to the King George Hospital followed Eye, ENT and Chest hospitals.

In fact, the doctors are facing trouble to attend patients. With acute shortage of the doctors against the patient rush, the doctors have failed to spend maximum five minutes time to each patient particularly in the KGH. Meanwhile, with the absence of junior doctors, there is a pressure on the regular doctors to clear the OP rush.
