Sub-registrars busy verifying demand drafts of one year

Rajamahendravaram:  The sub-registrars in East Godavari district are finding it tough to verify the demand drafts (DDs) submitted by parties to the transactions during various registrations in sub-registrar offices in the district.

According to sources in stamps and registrations department, the government directed all sub-registrars in the state to verify the DDs received in one year.

The government took the decision because 33 registrations were made on one DD in sub-registrar office at Repalle in Guntur district. The sub-registrars are verifying the DDs taken between April 2017 to January 2018 and the task of checking began on March 2.
