7 held for organising cockfights  

Vijayawada: Kankipadu police arrested seven persons at Godavarru village in Kanipadu mandal for organising cockfights and seized Rs 12,540, three cocks, 22 motor bikes and four knives. The DCP 1 (law and order) Gajarao Bhupal produced the arrested persons before the media on Sunday.

He said the police on receiving information raided the spot and nabbed seven persons for conducting cockfights.  He said organising cock fights is crime and police would take action against them. He asked the people to give information to the police station concerned or to 100 if they notice cockfights. East Zone ACP V Vijay Bhaskar, Kankipadu CI K Sivaji and Kankipadu SI J Haneesh were present on the occasion.
