Diarrhoea cases unabated
Guntur: The diarrhoea cases are on the rise in the Guntur city even after one-week. About 120 patients admitted in the GGH in Guntur city in the last 24 hours. The officials are shifting the patients suffering from diarrhoea to corporate hospitals and higher officials were instructed not to furnish actual information to media.
Over 100 patients were undergoing treatment in the GGH while over 500 patients were undergoing treatment in the private hospitals in the Guntur city. PG medical students and nurses were also extending assistance to the doctors in the special wards set up in GGH. Contamination of drinking water was main reason for spreading of diarrhoea, according to sources.
Residents of One Town, those who consumed contaminated drinking water, complained of diarrhoea. A senior medical officer in the GGH on the condition of anonymity said, “Diarrhoea cases are still on rise. We are shifting some patients to corporate hospitals as their condition turned serious. We are not able to furnish actual information to the media. About 120 patients admitted in the GGH in the last 24 hours.”
