Minister lays foundation stone for NTR housing scheme

Eluru:  Minister for Labour Pitani Satyanarayana said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is planning to construct houses for all the eligible in the state.

The minister performed bhumipuja and laid the foundation stone for the houses, which would be constructed under NTR housing scheme at Kodipandela Dibba in Penugonda village in West Godavari district on Sunday.

Under NTR housing scheme, 375 houses at a cost of Rs 5.55 crore would be constructed. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that under NTR housing scheme each beneficiary will get Rs 1.50 lakh from the government. He said that the houses allotted to an eligible person may construct at their will and the government only sanction Rs.1.50 lakhs only. 

He directed the officials to take up the housing construction after completing the laying of foundation stone. He assured that the government will provide facilities like power, roads and drinking water.  He said that the pattas would be sanctioned in the name of women only.
