Chittoor: Senior BJP leader Kamineni Srinivas on Friday swore before Lord Ganesha that he did not resort to any corrupt practice during his stint as Andhra Pradesh Health Minister.

A day after he resigned from his Ministerial berth, Kamineni Srinivas had darshan of Lord Ganesha at famous Varasiddhi Vinayaka temple in Kanipakam on Friday. To step up pressure on the Centre demanding Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, two BJP Ministers on Thursday resigned from their posts.

Srinivas along with his family members visited the temple to invoke the blessings of the Lord Ganesha.

"Several allegations were made against me when I was Health Minister. I did not involve in any corrupt practice during my tenure as Minister. I swear by my words. People might not believe me if I blindly say that I am not corrupt. Neither me nor anyone in my family, known persons have indulged in corruption," he said.
