Folk artistes demand house sites

Tirupati: Folk artistes from Chittoor district took out a rally on the main roads in temple city on Monday in support of their demands.  Folk artistes in large numbers started  rally from CPM office to NTR Circle where the rally culminated.

Later, they submitted  a memorandum with their grievances to NTR statue.  On this occasion Folk Artistes Association  state leader P Yadagiri   has demanded that state government should allocate Rs 500 crore in the budget to the cultural activities. He also flayed that the government has ignored the issue of providing pensions to aged folk artistes.

``Government did not respond to our demand on sanctioning of house sites. Several times, we had brought house sites issues  to the notice of Government,” said Yadagiri.  In the rally and agitation programmes folk artistes Chalapati, Subba Reddy, Koteswara Rao, Sambamurthy  and others were present.
