Soda vendor attempts suicide

Eluru: A soda vendor, Md Basha, attempted suicide by consuming pesticide-laced drink at the Collectorate here on Monday, alleging that officials concerned were not taking action against those, who were involved in misappropriation of Rs 2 crore funds in Koyyalagudem Panchayat. 

The villagers and others are threatening me for exposing the corruption, he stated. Following the harassment, Basha has decided to commit suicide. Later, the police shifted Basha to III Town police station.
