Kadapa: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) vice-president N Tulasi Reddy alleged that both TDP and YSR Congress parties are responsible for the state not securing the Special Category Status (SCS).

Addressing a press conference at Vempalle on Wednesday, he found fault with N Chandrababu Naidu for not exerting pressure on Centre on the Special Category Status ever since he took over as the Chief Minister.

The PCC vice-president also said Chandrababu Naidu should have withdrawn the two members of his party from the Union government long back to exert pressure on the Centre to sanction the Special Category Status to AP. Tulasi Reddy suggested that the TDP should immediately withdraw from NDA to intensify its agitation over SCS.

Describing YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as an opportunistic politician, He said Jagan was adopting double standards over the SCS issue. While stating that his party would move a no-confidence motion against the Centre, the YSRCP chief was at the same time stating that he was confident that the BJP-led NDA would sanction Special Category Status to the State, Tulasi Reddy pointed out.

He said the Congress party would sanction Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh after it is voted to power at the Centre in 2019. He pointed out that AICC President Rahul Gandhi has already declared that he would first sign the file sanctioning SCS to AP.
