Kin of deceased home guard get compensation

Vijayawada: Commissioner of Police D Gowtam Sawang on Tuesday presented a cheque for Rs.3.95 lakhs to G Ramadevi, wife of home guard G V Nageswara Rao, who passed away recently. The City Home Guards Association had donated one day salary to the kin of the deceased home guard. 

The Home Guards Association has been trying to convince the Commissioner of Police for the donation of one-day salary of home guards to the family members of the home guard in case of death as there are no monetary benefits after the death of home guards.

Keeping in view of the problems being faced by the family members after the death of home guards, the association had decided to donate one day salary to rescue the family members of the deceased. Commissioner Gowtam Sawang had agreed for the request and handed over the cheque on Tuesday.
