Pawan writes to DGP seeking security
Vijayawada: Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday wrote a letter to the state DGP M Malakondaiah requesting to continue security for him even after the party formation day event to be observed on March 14 in Guntur district. Pawan Kalyan in his letter to the DGP said his security was viewed as very sensitive issue in the backdrop of caste-based agitations, class struggle and political suppression taking place in the state.
He felt if any attack takes place on him it will have impact on the public life. He reminded that 2,000 of his fans protested in Bhimavaram when his flexi was torn by unidentified persons and the police took many of his supporters into custody following the incident. He also recalled the stampede that took place during his visit to Kakinada and Anantapur.
Pawan Kalyan said traffic was halted for two hours in Vijayawada when he went to meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over the kidney problem of Uddanam.
He made it clear that the government would be held responsible if any untoward incident takes place during his visit to the state. He further said that he was not asking protection not with selfish motive but in view of the current political situation and caste- based agitations taking place in the society.
