Telangana okayed mutual teacher transfers: Ganta
Amaravati: Minister for human resource development Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the Telangana government had accepted in principle to frame rules for mutual transfer of teachers between both Telugu states.
Replying to a question during the question hour in Assembly on Wednesday, Srinivasa Rao said that 746 teachers had applied for mutual transfers. But the transfers were not possible with immediate effect due to technical reasons, he said.
The state government has already started dialogue with the TS government in this regard, he said while adding that it has also reacted positively on framing rules for allowing mutual transfers.
He said that the transfer proposals were against the new rules of mutual transfer system currently in force in both the states. As many as 526 government teachers should get relaxation from the new rules for getting transfer under intra-state transfer system, he said.
BJP floor leader P Vishnukumar Raju said that 20 per cent of teachers got postings in Telangana before the state bifurcation under open category. He said that the teachers were facing several challenges after the state was divided.
Similarly, a huge number of Telangana origin teachers have also been working in Andhra Pradesh, he said. The BJP leader said that they want to go to their native state and asked the government to take steps to transfer them.
