Call to women to come up as role models
Visakhapatnam: Leadership conclave was organised at the CII Visakhapatnam zone annual meeting here on Wednesday. The main objective of the conclave was to bring together business leaders, defence personnel, entrepreneurs and government officials – a microcosm of the kind of exceptional minds to enrich the multitude of people.
The conclave has witnessed thought provoking ideas and talks by stars from diverse sectors who pioneered in their segments and leading the world by setting an example and shared, inspired the ignited minds to develop the desire amongst the listener to become a leader.
Speaking on the occasion, Rear Admiral Vennam Srinivas, Flag Officer, Sub-Marine, Eastern Naval Command, said that before becoming a leader, success is all about growing around and after emerging as a leader, the success is all about growing others. The clear and compelling vision, coherent and structured strategy and a focused team drives the organisation forward, he added.
GSVSSS Prasad Sharma, Executive Director, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Visakh Refinery, said that only aspiration is not sufficient, one must plan and act accordingly to achieve the goals. The path may not be clear, but one should not deviate from his focus.
While delivering his address, Mukul Saran Mathur, Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Division, said that leadership doesn’t comes from position, it’s all about one’s attitude, perseverance and ability to manage things sensibly.
He also said that a leader must interpret things in a clear way, should have a clear conviction and show direction in the right way. While addressing a gathering, Vanitha Datla, Chairwoman, Indian Women Network, Southern Region and Vice Chairperson, Elico Limited, said that leaders are both born and groomed, the case may differ though. To inculcate leadership, mindset needs to be changed, she said and added that women need to come up as role models of tomorrow, she added.
Sriman Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa, President, Akshaya Patra Foundation, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, threw light on the lessons of the Bhagwat Gita and advised how to inculcate them in real life to develop the leader within. New Body For 2018-19
Gannamani Murali Krishna, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Fluentgrid Limited, has been appointed as Chairman, CII Visakhapatnam Zone, and KVV Raju, Chief Executive Officer, Granules Omni-Chem Private Limited, was appointed as Vice- Chairman to the new body.
