Four thatched huts gutted

Visakhapatnam: A fire broke out in a scrap shop due to a short circuit at Lodagalavani village in Anandapuram mandal  in Visakhapatnam district on Wednesday. According to sources, the scrap shop owner, who tried to break a shell brand fuel iron tank with a help of grinding cutter, but the wires which were connected to the circuit board were sorted, and fire broke out.

Later, it spread to the adjacent thatched huts.  But locals, who observed the fire alerted the inmates, hence, they ventured out. Later, local people informed the fire department personnel, who in turn, rushed to the spot and doused the fire.  Property worth Rs 5 lakhs  was destroyed in the fire accident.
