Ganja seized, six held

Polavaram: Devarapalli police seized 378 kgs of ganja from three cars at Devarapalli centre in the early hours of Wednesday and took six persons into their custody.

According to sources, six persons might be students, who are coming from Narsipatnam agency area with ganja packets, in three cars. On a tip-off, Devarapalli SI P Vasu conducted checking on the National Highway in the midnight. After midnight, three cars reached Devarapalli there police stopped the cars and found 180 bags of ganja in them. 

The youth are going to Warangal with ganja in Indigo Innova, and Ford Fugo cars. Police immediately took six persons into their custody and interrogated them. On their confession, they formed  two special teams to nab the prime accused  in ganja smuggling.

The teams went to Hyderabad to nab the gang members, sources said. Police might disclose the information of the case within 48 hours, according to sources.
