Two burglars held; booty worth 10 lakh recovered

Kakinada: Kakinada police led by the Central Crime Station (CCS) SDPO Pallapu Raju nabbed two inter-district thieves and recovered property worth Rs 10 lakh from them here onWednesday. 

After producing them before the media, SDPO Pallapu Raju said that the two criminals Gollapalli Naga Malleswara Rao (38) and Gonnabattula Kartik Kumar (30) belonged to Eluru town of West Godavari district. Pallapu Raju said that the modus operandi of these two are breaking the locked houses at night and stealing the valuable gold and silver articles from those houses.  

He said the prime accused Naga Malleswara Rao was involved in three murder for gain cases in Visakhapatnam and 17 cases in Eluru, Undrajavaram and Bhimadolu towns. He was also involved in many such crimes between 2016 and 2018 in East, West and Krishna districts.

He said that on a tip-off, SI Papa Raju and his team arrested both offenders at room number 107 in Sangita Lodge in the city and recovered 330 grams of gold and 1150 grams of silver articles, one LCD television and a cash of Rs 15,000. The total worth of the property recovered is 10 lakh rupees. SB DSP Sunkara Murali Mohan and others were present.
