Ugadi film awards to be presented on March 17

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce (APFCC) will present Ugadi Film Awards-2018 on March 17 evening. APFCC president and Organising Committee convener RV Bhupal Prasad said that the award function will be organised at Happy Resorts on Vijayawada–Guntur Highway at Atmakur village.

Addressing media persons here on Thursday, Prasad said the APFCC was presenting the Ugadi film awards at the upcoming world-class capital Amaravati for the second time at Happy Resorts and added that the awards would be presented in the presence of politicians and film fraternity. Best Actor, Actress, Character Actors and Technicians will be awarded on the occasion, he said.

Organising Committee chairman A Madhu Mohan Krishna said that ministers P Pulla Rao, Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Bhuma Akhila Priya will be the chief guests to present the awards.

Film personalities Tammareddy Bharadwaja, RP Patnaik and others will be the guest of honour.  He said the film industry comprises four sections mainly producers, distributors, studio heads and directors and they were all being invited to present the awards.

He said that this year the Life-time Achievement award will be given to Kaikala Satyanarayana on the occasion. About 70 short-films were selected for the first time and awards will be given to them in all categories, he added.  

He further said that Happy Resorts has all facilities for shooting serials, short-films, feature films, cultural programmes and fashion show.  Anchors Navina Yaata, Komali and directors Lohit Kumar, Shahi Salman will monitor the event.
