Desam leaders smell scandal
Amaravati: Leaders from various political parties reacted on the controversy over Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan getting a prime housing land at Kaza near National Highway in Guntur.
In the Assembly lobbies, almost all the MLAs and Ministers discussed about the controversial deal of Pawan Kalyan, which was published in The Hans India on Friday.
The Minister for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy observed that he tried to purchase an acre of land near the housing land of Pawan Kalyan, where he came to know that the land value was more than Rs 7 crores per acre. But, he questioned how could Pawan Kalyan managed to get the two acres of prime land worth around Rs 14 crores at a cheap rate of just Rs 40 lakh?
Another MLA from Kadiri Assembly segment, Attar Chand Basha blamed that Pawan Kalyan might indulge in escaping from paying taxes to government by showing the lower price.
“Pawan Kalyan purchased two acres of land at Rs 41 lakh. Is it not corruption? Will people believe it? Who will give you Rs 14 crore to Rs 16 crore worth land at just Rs 41 lakh, throw away price?”, Basha criticised.
Basha further observed that Pawan Kalyan did not have any moral right to criticise the TDP leaders, since he himself was a corrupt. Reacting on Pawan Kalyan’s prime land, BJP floor leader in Assembly P Vishnukumar Raju stated that when the seller was willing to sell it Rs. 20 lakh per acre then there was no problem for the purchaser. He further added that it was legally valid and no need to criticise his deal of purchasing prime land at low price.
“In the Real Estate, this is a strategy. A celebrity, film star, business magnate or prominent politicians will come and reside at a venture, then the realtors will sell the remaining lands at very high value.
To get appreciation to their lands, the real-estate venture developers sometimes even offer the prime lands to the prominent persons at free of cost. Here also, in Pawan Kalyan’s case, this formula might be worked out”, observed another BJP MLA Akula Satyanarayana.
