RTC aims 200 crore target on parcel service

Ongole: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation is targeting Rs 200 crore this year, announced executive director of marketing and coordination AV Rao. He started the clearance week in Parcel and Courier Service here on Friday.

M&C ED of APSRTC AV Rao said the staff that the parcel and courier service (PACS) introduced by the APSRTC is receiving great response from the public. He thanked the passengers, workers and officials of the corporation for the success and announced that the PACS earned Rs 50 crore to the APSRTC last year.

He said that based on the response from the passengers the corporation is aiming Rs 200 crore earnings in the service this year. He said that with the cooperation of the workers and officials, the target can be easily achievable, as the publicity campaign for the PACS is already launched.

Ongole regional manager K Adam Saheb said that the bookings of the parcels and couriers are made online now and asked the public to pay only the amount printed on the receipt. He made a few suggestions to the PACS staff for making the delivery of parcels as soon as they received.

Deputy CTM N Murali Babu, Deputy CME T Rajendra Reddy, ATM (C) JS Sarma, Ongole depot manager M Srinivasa Rao and other officials also participated in the programme.
