Shrikesh B Lathkar is new GMC chief

Guntur: Commissioner Challa Anuradha has been transferred from Guntur Municipal Corporation on Saturday and she did not get posting. Vizianagaram district Joint  Collector Shrikesh B Lathkar has been posted as Guntur Municipal Commissioner and government issued orders to this effect. 

Due to failure of administration in the corporation, drinking water was contaminated in the Old City which claimed 14 lives in Guntur and  over 500 patients were undergoing treatment in  various hospitals in the city. 

Jana Sena Chief Pawan Klayan during his visit to Guntur city demanded that the government appoint an IAS officer as a municipal commissioner  and alleged  the failure of municipal  administration for diarrhoea outbreak. Similarly, CPI, CPM  and BJP leaders demanded  action  against the Commissioner Anuradha  for her failure in containing diarrhoea deaths.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday conducted a tele- conference with the Municipal Commissioners and vented ire at Anuradha. Later, he shifted her from Guntur and posted Shrikesh B Lathkar as GMC  Commissioner.
