Pawan Kalyan for end to caste culture
Guntur: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan said if we want Singapore type of development and administration, we should know Singapore rulers, and their way of governance of equal treatment of all.
“Those who want Singapore type of system, they should know what Lee Kuan Yew (the long-time ruler of the tiny island nation) and how he developed Singapore. That country is home for different ethnic groups. Lee made many sacrifices so that all of them proudly claim that they are Singaporeans,” he said.
He participated in Ugadi celebrations at Uddandarayunipalem in the district and addressed a farmers’ meeting on Sunday. Stating that it is the responsibility of the government to see that justice is done to all, he said if inequalities persist, it will lead to unrest.
The Jana Sena chief said he may not solve the problems, but certainly his intervention and voice would highlight it and draw the attention of the government.
Promising that he would develop all constituencies equally irrespective of legislators’ political affiliations if he comes to power, he said Jana Sena will never try to get political mileage out of disbursal of funds.
On capital Amaravati, Pawan Kalyan said in order to develop Amaravati into a world-level city, we should first remove whatever inequalities are there and should have broadmindedness. “Amaravati cannot become a global city until we abandon caste culture, which predominate our state.
We should broaden our minds and end inequalities,” he said. Pawan Kalyan said governments should not adopt a policy of discriminating against those who did not vote for them and should be impartial in developing constituencies.
Noting that Dalits and occupants of assigned lands were meted out injustice in Amaravati, he demanded Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to do justice to them immediately and made it clear that he has no disputes with anybody but was only fighting against certain policies.
Citing example of Chandigarh and Gandhinagar, capitals of Punjab-Haryana and Gujarat respectively, he said they were developed in a phased manner and Chandigarh was first developed in 7,500 acres and later extended to 8,500 acre.
He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wants to develop the state within the short period and admitted that farmers, when asked by him whether they were forced to part with their lands for capital, had told him that they had voluntarily given their lands for the construction of the state capital. He said he was also happy over construction of capital in Guntur district where he was born (in Bapatla).
He suggested that the government take lands according to requirement. He said he had set up Jana Sena to do justice to the people as he felt disturbed by the injustice done to the state which has not even given capital.
