YSRCP, TDP MPs boycott lunch hosted by Speaker

New Delhi: The MPs from the Telugu Desam Party and the YSRCP have boycotted the lunch hosted by Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan to mark the Marathi new year’s day Gudi Padwa. 

Instead, they served notices moving a no-confidence motion against the BJP government. They have also begun canvassing for the support of other parties. The TDP has already issued a whip to all its MPs to remain present in Delhi so that they can take part in the debate.

Meanwhile, the speaker has said that she was in receipt of the notices for no confidence motion. She said that a debate on the no confidence motion was not possible as the house ws not in rder. She said counting cannot be taken up amid din.
