BJP shying away from debate in Lok Sabha: Yanamala
Amaravati: Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu alleged that BJP was trying to escape from discussion on no-confidence motion in Parliament. The Finance Minister here on Monday said that the BJP does not seem to have confidence over its MPs and hence it was trying to escape from the no-confidence motion.
The Lok Sabha did not take up the no-confidence motions against the NDA government on Monday too as the MPs of AIADMK and TRS held protests at the well of the House demanding setting up of Cauvery Management Board and increase in reservation respectively.
Amidst protests by members of the two parties, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House for Tuesday. Responding to the developments, Yanamala said it was undemocratic and unfair that the no-confidence motion was not allowed even as there was enough support from MPs for moving the motion. “Why the BJP is not daring to face the no-trust motion.
Are they scared that the BJP MPs might cast their votes against the NDA,” he asked. He alleged that as there was discontent among the BJP MPs against Prime Minister Modi and hence the saffron party was shying away from the no-confidence motion moved against the NDA by the TDP.
Yanamala also alleged that political strategist of YSRCP Prashant Kishor was coordinating between the party and BJP. “With Prashant’s participation in BJP meeting, people got clarity that the YSRCP would go with the BJP in the next general elections,” Yanamala said.
