Man attempts suicide
Eluru: A 65-year-old man attempted suicide at the Collectorate here on Monday following the harassment by his two sons.According to eyewitnesses, BhuvanagiriVenkateswara Rao, 65, of Gowripatnam in Devarapallimandal reached Eluru in the morning to lodge a complaint with the Collector on his two sons.
He was running a small kirana shop in Gowripatnam. His wife passed away with illness one-and-a-half year ago. Now he is living alone in Gowripatnam. However, his two sons Govinda Rao and Vara Prasad are recently started harassing him to give building which was on Venkateswara Rao’s name. Unable to bear their harassment, Rao reached Eluru to lodge a complaint in MeeKosamprogramme to the collector.
He has taken up a pesticide bottle with him while reaching collectorate. The depressed Venkateswara Rao has consumed pesticide in the compound of the collectorate. Locals and police immediately shifted him to Government hospital. Three town police registered a case.
