World Sparrow Day observed

Visakhapatnam: Paryanvarna Margadarsi Vaisakhi (PMV) team observed the World Sparrow Day at Public Library here on Tuesday. House sparrows became a rare sight in the urban culture of late.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr S Vijaya Kumar, the man behind the organisation, said that the Sparrow Day was being observed since 2010 at various urban cities, it is an international initiative by Nature Forever Society, as part of that the team had identified some places in the city where house sparrows are dwelling more, so that making people come forward to place bird nests made with clay pots, coconut shells ad bamboo baskets.
