Chandrababu Naidu cheated farmers, self help groups, alleges Jagan
Guntur: YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said Chilakaluripet turned into a centre for scams in the State and recalled that Rs 800-crore cotton scam was unearthed in the town and the CBI has been probing the case. He further said that it is the centre for fake chilli seeds and spurious chilli powder and illegal transport of subsidy rice.
Addressing a public meeting at Chilakaluripet town on Wednesday, he said that illegal mining also increased during the TDP rule. He said corruption was rampant in the State. He said Chilakaluripet is in first place in scams and crime in the state. He said chilli prices had been falling due to failure of the government. He regretted that farmers of black gram, green gram and Bengal gram were being deprived of MSP.
He flayed the government for its failure to provide water to Pasumarru and Kurlapadu villages. He alleged that the TDP government took away the pattas of lands provided to the poor by former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was claiming that he had waived off the crop loans but the farmers in the State were being deprived of fresh loans, he pointed out.
Similarly, the government cheated the SHG women also, the Opposition leader said. He also alleged that Chandrababu Naidu government was selling AgriGold properties at cheaper prices to a local Minister.
He said the TDP government failed to keep its promise of providing monthly allowance to the unemployed youth. Jagan wondered why the Chief Minister failed to exert pressure earlier on the Centre for the Special Category Status.
He said Naidu began creating fuss over the issue now only to gain political mileage. The Opposition leader pointed out that Naidu had earlier stated that the Special Package announced by the Centre was better than the Special tatus. Earlier, Jagan started his Praja Sankalapa Yatra on the 116th day from Upplapadu and reached Chilakalurpet.
