Responding to a question raised by Katti Narasimha Reddy in the Legislative Council, the minister narrated the measures being taken by the government to develop infrastructure facilities in schools and colleges.
He announced the funds would be spent for construction of compound walls, additional classrooms, toilets and other facilities. Quality control wing of the government departments will check the newly-constructed buildings and take action if the norms are violated, he added.
Some MLCs pointed out that some school buildings are constructed with very poor quality and were not even lasting 10 years.
