Hyderabad: In a damage control exercise which continued on Tuesday also, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan laboured to establish that special category status for AP was non-negotiable and that there was no flip-flop on his stand on the issue.

In a statement here, the Jana Sena chief said that the reporter of the television channel, who interviewed him, had distorted his statement on the issue of SCS.

The film actor said that his stand is that the Centre should deliver SCS and the promises made in the AP Sate Reorganisation Act. “My words about special status and the funds that have to come as per the Act have been manipulated and misinterpreted,” he said.

He maintained that he had never said in the interview that financial aid was enough for the state and urged the media not to distort his version on the issue which is very sensitive in nature.

But in the interview to the channel reporter, he did say that financial assistance and industrial incentives were enough. “Naam kuch bhi rakho, ham ko financial incentives aur funds chahiyi,” he said.
