PCB chief pats Sri City for winning IGBC gold rating

Tirupati: The Chairman of the AP Pollution Control Board (APPCB) BSS Prasad visited Sri City on Wednesday. He held an interactive meeting with the HR and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Managers of all the operational units of Sri City.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri City founder and Managing Director (MD) Ravindra Sannareddy said, Sri City was built on the dictum of a clean, green, breathe-easy environment to work and live-in, and it was the first large scale industrial development in the country progressing towards a carbon neutral status.

He also added that Sri City is one of the first few greenfield cities in the country to achieve Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Green City ‘gold’ rating. Prasad congratulated Sri City for winning the IGBC gold rating. He reviewed the pollution control measures being implemented by units and appreciated them for adhering to the norms set by the PCB.

He briefed on the new processes and process changes that were introduced recently and sought feedback from the audience.  All of them have expressed that the APPCB is clearing the applications in time, with no harassment. He visited some of the units and inspected in person the pollution control measures being implemented. Commemorating his visit, he planted saplings in the lawns of the business centre.
