Woman killed, 11 injured in accident

Eluru: Woman was killed and 11 others were injured when the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling overturned on Gokula Tirumala Parijata Giri hilltop near Jangareddigudem on Thursday.

According to police, P Appala Raju of Chataparru village in Eluru mandal organised grain initiation ceremony of his son at Gokula Parijata Giri Lord Venkateswara temple. His relatives and  family members reached the temple on the hilltop in two autos. After the ceremony, when they were returning in two autos, one auto overturned on the ghat road at a curve while proceeding to the main road. 

In the incident, Battula Durga (45) of Chataparru village died on the spot and 11 others received serious injuries. Learning about the accident, local people reached the spot and shifted them to Jangareddigudem Area Government Hospital. Jangareddigudem police registered a case.
