Brahmotsavams: Dwajarohanam perfomed
Kadapa: TheNavahnikaBrahmotsavams of Sri KodandaramaSwamy temple in Vontimitta of Kadapa district took off to a colourful start with Dwajarohanam (flag hoisting) which was performed on Sunday.
The event was performed exactly 9.30a.m as per ‘PancharatraAagama Sastra tradition’ by temple chief priest KankanaBattarRajakumar. According to mythology, during Dwajarohanam, Lord Garuda goes round the temple complex inviting all heavenly bodies and Rishis (SakalaDevathalu ,Rushulu) to the festival which is performed by Lord.
State ministers SChandramohan Reddy and C Audinarayana Reddy, Rajampet MLA and government Chief Whip MMallikarjuna Reddy, participated as chief guests for the nine-day festivities. MMallikarjuna Reddy presented ‘Pattuvastrams to the deities.
Speaking on the occasion, SChandramohan Reddy has said that TTD is keen on developing the KodandaramaSwamy temple by allocating adequate funds. TTD also has been playing key role for the restoration of Hindu Dharma through establishing ‘Dharma PracharaParishad (DPP) which proposed to appointing fishermen, SCs, STs as Archakas in the temples after giving them training. TTD has also been providing financial support for construction of temples in fisher men villages and SC and ST colonies.
On the occasion, the ministers unveiled a special issue called Sri Rama Ramaneeyam’ written by Vidwan Katta Narasimhacharyulu. Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh, MLC PRamasubba Reddy, Rajampet RDO Veerabrahmam, TTD DeputyExecutive Officers VajayaSaradhi and Devendra Babu and others were present.
