Counter BJP charges, Chandrababu Naidu to TDP MPs
Amaravati: TDP national president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed his party MPs to expose BJP’s false propaganda and counter the allegations of its leaders. Naidu said BJP was making corruption allegations deliberately against the TDP as it could not digest the exit of TDP from the NDA.
Addressing a teleconference with party MPs, ministers and other leaders on Sunday, the Chief Minister said he had given a strong reply to BJP national president Amit Shah in Assembly. He said it was ridicules that the Prime Minister Office was shielding YSRC MP V Vijaysai Reddy.
“Though both Vijaysai Reddy and fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya are economic offenders, the PMO is protecting Vijaysai Reddy while Vijay Mallya ran away,” he said.
Naidu slammed BJP leaders for their silence over the allegations against BJP and said they have no right to criticise TDP. He said the TDP had entered into an alliance with BJP only because of protecting the state’s interests.
“Though we had been asking Centre for funds to the state, it utterly failed in doing justice to the state. It was the reason for exit of TDP from NDA. We chose the protests in Parliament as a last option,” he said.
The Chief Minister asked why the BJP was frustrated when we asked for implementation of AP Reorganisation Act and promises made on the floor of Parliament when the state was bifurcated.
The Chief Minister rejected the allegations of BJP that the state government did not submit utilisation certificates (UCs) to the Centre regarding funds given to the state. “We submitted UCs for the amount of Rs 940 crore as against the total of Rs 1,050 crore that was given to backward districts.
Similarly, UCs were submitted for an amount of Rs 1,000 crore that was given to Amaravati and Rs 350 crore that was given to Vijayawada and Guntur districts,” he explained.
