TTD to develop Vontimitta temple on par with Bhadradri

Amaravati: Transport minister K Atchannaidu announced on Saturday that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will develop Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple in Vontimitta, Kadapa district on par with the Bhadrachalam temple of Telangana.

Speaking atthe Legislative Council on Saturday, the minister explained the steps made by the TTD and the endowments department for the development of temples in the state.
 
He said the TTD had taken up renovation works of 13 temples at a cost of Rs22.67 crore in the state and added 37 temples of Lord Venkateswara have been identified for renovation and development in the state. 

When the MLCs A S Ramakrishna, Samantakamani, V Balasubramanyam and Surya Rao have asked about the development of Vontimitta temple in Kadapa district, the minister assured the House the 16th century temple would be developed on par with Bhadradri temple in Telangana. 

He said efforts were on to renovate and develop the temples located in SC/ST and BC colonies in the state.
