GMC civic chief passes `1,004 cr budget

Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar passed corporation estimated budget of Rs1,004 crore for the financial year 2018-19 at a meeting in the GMC office on Thursday.  He showed opening balance of Rs 422 crore and receipts of Rs 581 crore. 

He has shown expenditure of Rs 799 crore and  Rs 205 crore closing balance. He allocated Rs 4.85 crore to develop Gandhi Park in the city and Rs.1.10-crore for the development of Koretepadu tank. Similarly, Rs.16-crore was allotted for the modernisation of Peekalavagu. Rs 4 crore was allotted for the development of NTR Manasa Sarovaram Park. 

The GMC allocated Rs 36 crore to engage contract workers, Rs 30 crore for 24x7 drinking water  supply scheme, Rs.1.5 crore to increase greenery and Rs 6.05 crore for the development  of drains.  The GMC commissioner passed the estimated budget and sent the same for the approval of District  Collector and GMC special officer Kona Sasidhar for  approval.
