AP signs MoU with Wright State University on fee reduction
- Students pursuing degree courses or above in government universities in Andhra Pradesh are eligible for a 75 per cent of reduction in fees
- The State has appointed the secretary for APSCHE as the AP State programmein-charge to oversee the effective implementation of the programme
Amaravati: Students from universities of Andhra Pradesh applying for admission to Wright State University of Ohio State in the USA, are eligible for a 75 per cent of reduction in the out of state surcharge in state tuition fees charged by the institution.
Special chief secretary for higher education Adityanath Das said that the state government has entered an agreement with the Wright State University (WSU), a non-profit educational institution of the Ohio State, USA.
As per the agreement, the students studying in degree courses or above in government universities in Andhra Pradesh are eligible for the fees waiver.
The government has appointed the secretary for Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) as the AP state programmein-charge to oversee the effective implementation of the programme.The APSCHE should constitute a Project Monitoring Cell (PMC) for effective implementation of this programme. The PMC will host a separate website for this programme highlighting the relevant details and contact persons of all state universities for the programme.
It will also provide Wright State University promotional material to Andhra Pradesh students and assist the Wright State University coordinator in obtaining information needed to assist students who are applying for it.
APSCHE shall constitute a student grievances cell to address and resolve all the queries, issues and grievances of students in a timely manner.
Adityanath Das said the state universities of Andhra Pradesh must designate a coordinator who will serve as the contact person for the programme.
Students of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. Nannaya University, Rajahmundry, Dr BR Ambedkar University, Srikakulam. Dravidian University, Kuppam. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, Krishna University, Machilipatnam, Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Rayalaseema University, Kurnool, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, Sri Padmavathi Mahila University, Tirupati, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati,VikramaSimhapuri University, Nellore, and Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa are eligible for the fees waiver.
