BJP seeks CBI probe into IFFCO land allocations
Nellore: BJP district vice-president Midathala Ramesh demanded for CBI probe into the irregularities of land allocations by the IFFCO as the state government had violated SEZ norms.
Addressing media at party office here on Saturday, Ramesh said that SEZ Board has no permission to set up industries in the lands allocated to IFFCO. “State government had allotted lands to 8 chemical industries violating SEZ norms and some of the politicos in the government have benefitted from these firms,” alleged Ramesh.
Some leaders have accepted kickbacks through Hawala activity from these firms, he said and alleged the entire settlements took place at the CM’s peshi. Ramesh said the state government had permitted Gamesa Company to set up their unit in the IFFCO premises and allotted lands to 8 chemical industries with license of food processing units.
The BJP leader alleged the state government had involved in huge scam after providing electricity, water and other benefits to these firms at low charges. “Though full bench of the Supreme Court had directed the state government to pay compensation to 3,000 farmers who gave their lands to IFFCO, the state government had neglected and failed to pay the compensation,” said the BJP leader.
