Make the best use of time: Collector to students
Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana called upon the students to make the best use of time as this was the crucial period for moulding their careers. The two days programmme, Smart India Hackthon -2018, was started at Brindavan Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Engineering College here on Friday. The event was inaugurated through video conference by Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Prakash Javadekar along with AICTE Chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe and AICTE co-chairman Anand Deshpande.
Addressing on the occasion, the District Collector informed the students that their confidence levels will help them to achieve great targets in life. He also appealed them not to feel stressed in their academic career. He emphasized about the importance of value-based education and wished the students a bright future. The collector further advised the students not to disturb their studies by getting attracted to the deviations around. Smart India Hackathon 2018 is planned to motivate the students to think out of the box and offer innovative solutions for some of the crucial problems faced by the nation.
Brindavan Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) is the only college that has been selected in the state of Andhra Pradesh as nodal centre. The college will be the venue for covering problem statements of the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Coal and related problems of the Governments of Delhi, Gujarat, Sikkim, Maharastra and Chattisgarh. Total 51 teams were demonstrating their creativity and technical expertise for solving the challenges faced by the country. AP Higher Education Vice-Chairman V Valli Kumari, BITS college director N Sivaprasad Reddy, principal A Srikanth Goud and others participated in the programme.
