Prayers mark Good Friday

Tirupati: Christian fraternity held prayers at  various churches to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ on the cross as they observe it as Good Friday. Several people went on fast for the day as Good Friday which Christians consider very significant as it indicates the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus. St Luthern Church, West Church, Hosanna Mandir, Jaganmatha Church and many other churches  witnessed huge crowds. Flower decorations were made in churches on the occasion.

Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) has organised a blood donation camp at Jaganmatha Church on Friday to mark Good Friday. The Director cum Vice-Chancellor Dr TS Ravikumar inaugurated the camp in which 60 people have donated their blood. SVIMS faculty, Dr Chaitanya, Dr Sri Ranjitha, Technicians and other blood bank staff participated.
