AP CM Chandrababu Naidu Delhi-bound for SCS
Amaravati: With speculations rife that Parliament may adjourn sine die on Monday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is contemplating to lead a delegation of leaders of various political parties and representatives of various organisations who participated in the all-party meeting to New Delhi on Monday.
Naidu is understood to have convened a meeting of party leaders, including senior ministers, to discuss the agenda for the proposed visit. According to party sources, it is not yet known whom the delegation led by Naidu would meet and what exactly the strategy would be to put pressure on the Centre to grant special category status and also take steps to implement about 18 issues that have been listed by the AP government which have not yet been implemented.
Once Parliament adjourns sine die, the TDP or the YSRCP will not have any opportunity to protest the government. Naidu does not want the issue to get diluted at any cost. Sources said that during his visit, Naidu will meet leaders of various parties along with the delegation and explain to them how the BJP had cheated the state government.
In a strategic move, he will also explain why he had first accepted the proposal of the Union government in regard to the special package in lieu of the special category status and how the Centre had misled him with false promises which left no option for him but to take a U turn. There is a possibility that the delegation may also meet Congress leaders to enlist their support for the SCS.
It is learnt that Naidu will depute his Cabinet ministers to invite the representatives of the YSRCP, BJP and Jana Sena as well to join the delegation to New Delhi. It may be mentioned here that these parties had boycotted the all-party meeting convened by the state government recently.
It now remains to be seen whether YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who has been giving a call every day that the TDP should support their move like no-confidence motion and resign from the Lok Sabha the day Parliament adjourns sine die would agree to join the delegation or not. Another option for him is to ask his MPs in Delhi to join the delegation, a senior TDP leader told The Hans India. If they refuse to join they would stand exposed once again before the people, the CM added.
