Minister launches post card campaign for Special Category
Guntur: Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao launched ‘post cards’ campaign under the aegis of Dr YSR Horticulture University in Chilakaluripet on Sunday to mount pressure on the Centre for granting Special Category Status to the state. It was led by P Sivaramakrishna, a member of the university.
According to reports, they send post cards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. People supporting the Special Category Status would also send posts cards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding Special Category Status, he added.
Minister Pulla Rao urged the people to send post cards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Special Category Status. He made it clear that the state government led by N Chandrababu Naidu is committed to the welfare of downtrodden. The government waived crop loans taken by the farmers, he reminded.
Later, addressing the media, Minister Pulla Rao demanded that the Centre grant Special Category Status to the state as promised and added that it was right of the people. He warned that if the Centre did not respond, they would intensify the agitation for status. He questioned as to why the YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy had failed to attend the all-party meeting convened by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
