Bangi rides buffalo for SCS
- PM Modi betrayed people of AP: Ananthaiah
- Says Chandrababu alone can fight for AP rights
Kurnool: Bangi Ananthaiah, former Mayor of the Kurnool Municipal Corporation and senior Telugu Desam Party leader, on Monday performed yet another unique feat demanding Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, on one occasion, he rode a donkey by covering his face with Chandrababu Naidu and on another occasion, he appeared as a beautiful young lady.
This time, he rode a buffalo in front of the Collectorate and demanded the Central government to accord SCS to the state. Though the demand was the same, Bangi keeps on changing the way of protest. For his spontaneity, he is being fondly called as ‘Kurnool Kota’.
Later, speaking to the media, Ananthaiah alleged that the Central government has betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh. At the time of 2014 elections, Narendra Modi had assured the people of the State that the Centre would fulfil the promises made to Andhra Pradesh in AP Reorganisation Act, Now, he went back on promises after coming to power, he fumed.
Bangi further said that Naidu was an able leader, who was striving with all his might to develop Andhra Pradesh despite having a revenue deficit of Rs 16,000 crore. No other party except the Telugu Desam would fight with the Central government for getting the special status, he added. Bangi said that the people of Andhra Pradesh would teach a bitter lesson to the BJP if SCS was not granted to the State.
