YSRCP moves privilege notice against Naidu for insulting PM Modi
New Delhi: With the TDP set to intensify its campaign against the NDA government in next two days when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would be in Delhi meeting leaders of all political parties and would also address the national media to explain how the Centre had failed to implement the AP State Reorganisations Act 2014, the YSRCP on Monday gave a privilege notice in Rajya Sabha alleging that Naidu had insulted the Prime Minister while replying to a discussion in Andhra Pradesh Assembly. This has invited criticism from many MPs particularly those from the TDP.
The MPs said if the BJP or the NDA really felt that Naidu had insulted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi then the BJP should have moved a privilege notice. Secondly, the BJP MLAs were present in the Assembly and Council when Naidu replied and no one had so far made any such allegation.
TDP MPs -- K Ramamohan Naidu, CM Ramesh and Thota Narsimham -- alleged that this proves the TDP’s contention that the YSRCP was hobnobbing with BJP and its only aim was to try and create problems for Naidu. Jaganmohan Reddy, they said, had been openly making statements that his aim was to see that Naidu was sent to jail. Reddy, they recalled, had recently touched the feet of Modi in Rajya Sabha and he has been found moving around in PMO ever since TDP came out of NDA.
They further said that this makes it clear that YSRCP was using the special status issue for their personal gains. How is possible to demand Special Category Status without criticising Modi, they said. On one hand Jagan alleges that TDP had compromised on state interests for last four years and here they jump to the rescue of Modi, they added.
In Amaravati, IT Minister Nara Lokesh said Vijayasai Reddy was behaving like a BJP member. Vijayasai Reddy seems to be more worried about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image than the BJP leaders. He further stated that Vijaysai Reddy mortgaged the interests of the state at the feet of Prime Minister. Both Jaganmohan Reddy and Vijaysai who are A1 and A2 in money laundering cases have vested interest to come out of the CBI and ED cases, said Lokesh.
Meanwhile, Vijaysai made another sensational comment on Monday. He alleged that Naidu had met Vijay Mallya in London between March 12 and 14, 2016 and took about Rs 150 crore as party fund from him.
