‘Highway patrolling staff should be alert’

Srikakulam: The national highway patrolling police need to be alert in prevention of road accidents effectively, directed Superintendent of Police Dr CM Trivikrama Varma. 

He convened a review meeting on road accidents on the NH on Saturday with patrolling staff. Speaking on the occasion, he said that  reasons for accidents identified as overspeed, entry through unauthorised medians, carrying passengers in goods vehicles, irregular parking of vehicles, boarding of more passengers in auto-rickshaws. The Superintendent of Police directed police to take necessary steps for prevention of accidents and to curb violation of road safety rules.
