Chandrababu to head Happiness Commission in AP
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is all set to head a Happiness Commission which will take up a series of programmes to promote “happiness” in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the chief executive officer of the AP state development planning society (APSDPS) and vice-chairman of the proposed commission, Sanjay Gupta, the proposal for the commission is in the final stages and an order to constitute the commission will soon be issued.
Asserting that the commission aims to ensure all-round development of people he said that including the public’s psychological well-being, health, usage of their time, education etc, apart from understanding their satisfaction over implementation of the government programmes.
A series of activities are expected to be taken up by the commission which include creation of a lively work environment in public and private offices, development of infrastructure to promote healthy living, promotion of adventure and outdoor activities, introduction of programmes promoting behaviour changes among people and creation of facilities to improve the lifestyle of people.
After Madhya Pradesh, AP became the second state in the country to introduce an exclusive ministry for happiness in April 2017.
