Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) will organise 5K Run here on April 13 demanding Special Category Status to the State and implementation of all assurances included in the AP Reorganisation Act, APCC general secretary S N Raja said here on Monday.

Raja along with other general secretaries Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao, Misala Rajeswara Rao and Pakkala Suribabu released the poster for the forthcoming 5K Run.

Addressing the media, Raja said APCC president Dr N Raghuveera Reddy and other PCC leaders would participate in the 5K Run.

He claimed that it was the Congress party alone which has been fighting for the Special Category Status for AP.  He pointed out that every party was demanding the implementation of the provisions in AP Reorganisation Act which was passed by the Congress party in Parliament during the UPA rule.

He said that if the assurances were implemented in toto, AP would become the No.1 State in the country. Raja said that though the Congress had suffered political loss, it had attempted to do justice to the state.
