He stressed the government’s commitment in bringing these suppliers to the State as it was embarking on industrial development. In the hardware sector, Foxconn, Dixon, Celkon, Karbon and Reliance Jio, have already come forward to establish their industries in the State.

He said that Xiaomi has established its unit in Sri City almost four years back and grew very fast in selling nine million mobile phones both on line and off line. Now their suppliers have come to start their units. “I have assured them to provide land, power, water and explained them about the quality manpower which we have here along with good resources.

If these units are established here employment opportunities will be increased further. Already Xiaomi has been providing about 15,000 jobs in Sri City and in other companies another 20,000 jobs have come,” Naidu said.

If all the 38 companies join the list of other companies, a good eco-system will develop here, providing employment up to 50,000 youths. They will be allotted land or plug-and-play facilities, skilled man power and timely incentives for them to start their operations.

He said that automobile industries are also showing interest to invest in this area and Kia Motors, Isuzu, Apollo Tyres, Ceat Tyres, Hero Motors, Ashok Leyland are proof for this tendency. With all these companies, this area will become an automobile and hardware hub, he pointed out.

He has congratulated the vice-president and managing director of Xiaomi India Manu Jain for establishing their industry in the State. To produce a mobile phone, various spares are necessary. Having noticed the efforts of the government during the last three years, they have reposed faith in the States, he said.

Manu Jain who also spoke to the media said that though they expected to start their unit in two years, with the support extended by the State government, they could start in two months. They have become number one mobile manufacturers in the country within four years of establishing their industry in the State with a market share of 27 per cent and 57 per cent share in online segment.

He attributed the success to Make in India programme and said that among phones that are made in India, a majority are from Andhra Pradesh. Except some parts like PCB which has almost 50 per cent cost of the mobile phone all other parts were being imported.

If the 38 companies start their units here, they can produce mobile phone completely here only, he said. Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh, Minister for Industries N Amarnath Reddy, District Collector PS Pradyumna and others took part in the deliberations.
