Clash between BJP and CPM,YSRCP workers in Bhimavaram
Tension prevailed in Bhimavaram over two hours at Prakasham chowk on Thursday morning, following clash between BJP, CPM and YSRCP workers, when the CPM,YSRCP workers obstructed the Narsapur MP Gokaraju Gangaraju’s(BJP) hunger strike in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fast at Delhi.
The Narsapur MP Gokaraju Gangaraju of BJP accompanied by former Minister Pydikondala Manikyala rao and BJP workers reached Prakasham chowk in a rally to take up Hunger Strike, in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fast at New Delhi. When he ready takes up the fast, the CPM, YSRCP workers reached the hunger strike camp and raised slogans, demanding the centre to accord Special Category status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh. Following this, verbal war took place between the parties’ workers.
The workers of the parties started abusing each other and this lead to clash between the groups. Severe scuffle took place among the groups that created severe tense situation at Prakasham Chowk. The Police immediately intervened and try to pacify the groups. However, as the situation went out of hands, the police dispersed the CPM and YSRCP workers and asked BJP workers to calm down. CPM Delta District Secretary B Balaram, State Secretariat Member V Umamaheswara Rao, Mantena Sitaram and YSRCP leaders led the agitation. After some time, the MP Gokaraju Gangaraju continued his hunger strike.
