GAT-2018 begins in 48 cities
Visakhapatnam: GITAM University All India Entrance Examination (GAT-2018) began at 48 cities across the country on Wednesday. Vice-Chancellor of GITAM University Prof MS Prasada Rao released the online question paper here at GITAM Test Centre in the presence of Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna.
GITAM Admission Test (GAT-2018) is online test for admission into UG and PG programmes in engineering, pharmacy and architecture for the academic year 2018-19.
The university is providing the slot booking facility to write the online examination as per the student choice. The GAT-2018 will be continued up to April 26, in three slots every day and morning slot starts at 9 am, mid-day slot at 12 pm and the evening slot at 3 pm.
The examination is two hours duration test and the students have to attempt 100 questions (Mathematics 40, physics and chemistry 30 each). Positive answer carries four marks and one mark will be less for negative answer. The score will be known immediately after completing the test.
Admission Director of GITAM Prof K Narendra informed that the GAT-2018 results and ranks would be announced on April 30. He said that the university is planning to conduct admission counselling during the first week of May. The GAT-2018 top 10 rankers would get 100 per cent fee exemption and remaining rankers from 11 to 100 would get 50 per cent fee exemption.
The university is giving merit-cum-means scholarships to all B Tech aerospace engineering students, B Pharm, M Pharm. and M Arch, students and teaching assistantship to M Tech students during the academic year 2018-19, Narendra informed.
