Ambedkar, a great visionary: Palle

Anantapur: The 127th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar celebrated by the district administration and several Dalit organisations at the ZP Hall here on Saturday. Puttaparthi MLA and Government Chief Whip Palle Raghunatha Reddy described Ambedkar as a great visionary and a real democrat, who authored a constitution that stood the test of times. 

He was also a champion of women's freedom and gender equality. Ambedkar worked for a casteless society and social justice to marginalised sections. Local MLA Prabhakar Chowdary stated that Ambedkar was rated one among the world's top ten intellectuals. The youth, he said, should emulate him. District Collector Veera Pandian described Ambedkar as a great statesman, who authored such a constitution which integrated the pluralistic society and cultures of the vast country. He is truly a great visionary loved by the world leaders.

The Collector distributed 7 Innova and 11 Toyota cars to the unemployed youth through the SC Corporation. Mayor Swaroopa said that Ambedkar was the saviour of the downtrodden. He gave dignity to those who were looked down and discriminated by the so called upper castes. Ambedkar will be remembered by one and all as long as India lives. MLC Shamanthakamani also spoke. ZP chief Poola Nagaraju and CEO Shobha Swaroopa Rani participated.
